RestStop

Roads are the arteries of the state that connect every Keralite. RestStop is soon to be a chain of wayside amenities along the highways of Kerala, at par with global standards, and making road commutation safer and pleasurable. Wayside amenities along National and State Highways of every district will improve not only the comfort of the people as they travel across the state but also introduce a competitive standard for the private sector to emulate, which in turn will create a better standard of living for society at large. The first node of RestStop at Thalappadi, Kasargod District will be operation in next couple of months.

Concept

We aim to be the leader among the Wayside Amenities providers with global standards, making road travel pleasant and safe. Each centre will be a modern and comfortable place for one to take a break from their journey, with ideal facilities and landscaped grounds to help relaxation. Each centre will also act as a local community centre and will have a Village Mall enriching local markets.

Whether it be for a business meeting, a break en-route, or simply for the family and tourists on the move, the RestStop will be a landmark place to meet for both the business and social travellers. Sooner or later, be it for buying fuel or for a short trip, every trip will become an excuse to just visit the nearest RestStop.

Typical features of a RestStop are as follows:

Design

We have roped some of the best strategists and designers to study global models of such facilities and prepare design and operation methodology to create the best facility of international standards but customised for the local environment.

Meinhardt Group of Singapore is our Architect and PMC who have designed some of the best similar wayside amenities projects globally while KIIFCON, a 100% KIIFB owned arm is acting as the Client Representative to ensure perfect construction execution of each RestStop. We have a strategic agreement with Indian Oil Corporation to construct a fuel station in every RestStop, which will be operated by the investor.

RestStop design, layout, and offering mix will enable to make the customers journey more convenient, safe, and organised. Its unique design will leave a unique and memorable experience with a reflection of local theme flavours.

The design will strive to adopt the most appropriate and cost-efficient digital innovations, technologies, and opportunities for attracting more consumers and providing better opportunities for RestStop partners.

Proposal

As we are aiming to make first RestStop at Thalappadi, Kasaragod District operational within next few months, we would like to invite you to benefit from this concept as a franchisee. Investors who have or can acquire suitable plots along any highway / important road in Kerala with adequate traffic can benefit from the expansion of RestStop network by developing, operating one node. Franchisee will benefit from the following, all for a nominal fee based on turnover and gross income of each center.

  • Centralised promotion activities and other support from OKIH and Government to make each center successful.
  • Existing esteemed business partners operating different units in RestStop can be roped into your center too.
  • License to use the brands of OKIH.
  • Obtaining fuel station for your center.
  • Unified design and style, that will attract frequent travellers.
  • Centralised procurement support, benefiting from economy of scale.
  • Selected agencies to support design and construction of the center on negotiated special rate.
  • Training for your staff and standard operation process and guidance from OKIH. Trained key management team members from central pool.
  • Guidance on regulatory aspects including accounting and other allied requirements.
  • Preparation of DPR and seeking support from a panel of selected financial institutions.
  • Single window clearance or fast track regulatory approvals aligned with to be launched Sherpa portal and KSIDC, Local Bodies and other authorities.
